AIRTEC STAGE 2 INTERCOOLER UPGRADE FOR FOCUS RS MK2

As part of our expanding Focus RS product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our Stage 2 intercooler upgrade suitable for track or fast road use.

In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, we have developed a larger, freer-flowing intercooler that is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM item.

Our solution to increasing the intercooler’s size and performance within the confines of the limited space behind the bumper is based upon a 65mm core that’s twice as high and almost 100mm longer than the standard item. This offers a massive increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler, as well as a 127% increase in frontal area over standard, which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. To ensure that, the air ram scoop forces cold air through the core for more efficient air flow.

Together with our high-flow end tanks and air diverter scoop to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler offers much greater efficiency and volume over standard.

Test carried out at Jamsport to measure intake temperatures after

AIRTEC Stage2 intercooler
Air temp into intercooler. 149 degrees
Air temp out of intercooler. 26 degrees

We also saw power gains of 20 bhp mid range & 30 lb ft torque increase.

This was simply by swapping from Stage1 to Stage2.
